The closing meeting of the “Euphrates-Tigris Basin, Euphrates Sub-Basin Flood Management Plan Preparation Project, tendered by the General Directorate of Water Management, was held in Malatya Province on 26 August 2020 with the participation of Mr. Bilal DİKMEN, the General Manager of Water Management. In studies carried out during the project, areas with flood risk were identified in the Euphrates Sub-Basin, which covers 16% of Turkey’s surface area. Flood inundation, flood hazard, flood risk and flood evacuation plan maps were prepared, preventive structural and non-structural measures for flood damage were developed and cost calculations were made for the specified regions.
