We successfully held the closing meeting for the “Sectoral Water Allocation Plan Preparation Project in the Western Mediterranean Basin” in Muğla.
In this project, we identified changes in water potential under varying drought conditions and sectoral developments. Taking into account environmental, social, and economic considerations, we prioritized sectoral allocation using the WEAP water allocation model, creating allocation plans for 11 different sectors in the basin.
The Western Mediterranean Basin Water Allocation Plan represents a significant step towards ensuring fair, efficient, and sustainable water supply to sectors in the basin in the short, medium, and long term, especially in the face of the effects of climate change.
